Jewellery remodelling

I specialise in remodelling jewellery, transforming your cherished pieces into something entirely new and unique. Whether you have an outdated ring, an heirloom necklace, or broken earrings, I work closely with you to bring your vision to life. I blend craftsmanship with creativity to give your jewellery a contemporary, personalised look while preserving its sentimental value. It’s both a privilege and an honour to be entrusted with such commissions.

I can either use the stones from an old piece, offsetting the scrap value of any precious metal, or use old gold and stones.

Please get in touch or fill in my remodelling enquiry form if you're interested in having a piece remodelled.

How does the remodelling process work?

Design

It starts with an initial design consultation. This can be face to face, over the phone or via video call and is free of charge. We will discuss what you have in mind. At this point, it’s useful for you to have an idea of the following things:

  • Viewing of the pieces you'd like to have remodelled
  • Design ideas or inspiration – any photos or drawings of pieces you like the style of are really helpful
  • Which parts of your existing piece(s) would you like to have incorporated within the new piece. I can usually reuse gemstone, gold and silver. I cannot melt down platinum or palladium for reuse.
  • Timescale
  • Budget (remodelling commissions that involve melting down metal usually start from £500)

For some pieces, I create a computer aided design (CAD) model and can send you images and/or videos of your design.

If the design is complex or time consuming, I may request a deposit at this stage.

Deposit

Once your design has been finalised, I ask for a 50% deposit before I start making it.

Timeline

It can take from a few weeks upwards, depending upon the complexity of the piece. Typically, remodelled pieces take between 4 and 14 weeks from the finalisation of design. We can discuss expected timelines when discussing the design.

Making

Depending upon the design, and which components are being reused, I will either make the piece fully by hand, or partly/fully using CAD and 3D printing.

Your finished piece

The balance is due when your piece is ready for collection or delivery.

Pink sapphire and diamond ring

I used the pink sapphires and diamonds from an old eternity ring that was uncomfortable for my customer to wear. The stones were too large and deep to be flush set in the original design, causing the culet (bottom point) of the sapphires to poke through the band and dig into her finger. Additionally, the width of the band was irritating her skin. Together, we redesigned the ring, using her existing stones, and created a new eternity band in 9 carat white gold. I focused on thoughtful details, like raising the bottom of the settings to avoid direct contact with her finger, which helps prevent water buildup and irritation.

Inherited diamonds, Tsavorite garnet, amethyst and 9 carat yellow gold ring

The diamonds in this stunning ring were carefully taken from my customer’s nana’s cherished engagement ring, preserving the sentimental value of the original piece. To make it even more special, the design incorporates the birthstones of her beloved family members, creating a unique and meaningful heirloom that tells a story of love, legacy, and connection. This custom creation beautifully blends the past with the present, ensuring that the memories and emotions tied to the original ring continue to shine for generations to come.

Concentric circle three colour gold necklace

I transformed two old, unworn pieces of jewellery into a stunning new set—a beautiful necklace and a pair of elegant earrings. Using 9-carat white, yellow, and rose gold, I carefully melted down the original metals and crafted them into timeless, wearable treasures, giving them a fresh new life while preserving their sentimental value.

Golden wedding anniversary ring remodel

My customer’s white gold wedding band no longer fitted, and she wished for a new engagement and wedding ring in yellow gold to mark her golden wedding anniversary. To preserve the sentiment of her original engagement ring, we incorporated its deep blue sapphire and some of its small diamonds into the new design. She envisioned a stylised lily of the valley motif, with delicate leaf and diamonds for flower bud details integrated into wide bands. To enhance these intricate elements, I used rhodium plating to create a striking contrast in metal colour, bringing her vision to life with elegance and depth.

18 carat gold and diamond engagement ring and earrings

I transformed my customer’s great-great-grandmother’s 200 year old 18 carat gold, diamond, and sapphire ring into a beautiful new engagement ring. The central diamond from the original piece became the heart of the new design, while the remaining gold and diamonds were used to create a pair of elegant stud earrings.

Diamond ring remodel

My customer had a diamond ring that she no longer wore and wanted to have transformed into a new piece. She desired a completely different style, so we decided on a wide, court-shaped 9 carat white gold band with an 18 carat yellow gold rubover setting.

Ruby wedding anniversary ring

To celebrate her 40th wedding anniversary, my customer wanted to incorporate the diamond from her mum’s engagement ring into a new design. She chose a striking combination of a diamond and a ruby, set in an elegant, wide band ring. The band was crafted in 18 carat white gold, while the settings for the gemstones were made in 18 carat yellow gold, creating a beautiful contrast that highlights the timeless beauty of both stones.

30th wedding anniversary ring remodel

My customer wanted to combine the diamonds from her original wedding and engagement rings into a single, newly designed ring. Over time, the original 9 carat yellow gold bands had worn down from being worn alongside a 22 carat gold ring, so she also desired a fresh style.

To bring her vision to life, I created a CAD mock-up and shared design options to finalise the diamond placement. She chose a sleek 9-carat white gold court-shaped band, with two diamonds set in elegant 18 carat yellow gold settings. The remaining six diamonds were carefully flush set into the band, creating a beautiful and modern redesign of her cherished pieces.

Diamond and platinum cluster ring remake

My customer had inherited a diamond, platinum and 18 carat yellow gold ring from her mother-in-law. The setting for the central claw stone on the original ring had been damaged and replaced with a tube setting and a new stone. My customer knew this wasn’t her mother-in-law’s preference and she wanted the ring to be remade as it had originally looked. She also wanted the ring to solely be made from platinum so it can be handed on to her daughter, who prefers white metals.
